Overview

In this role you will provide strategic HR services to a manufacturing facility, aligning people needs with business objectives. You will partner with facility leadership to implement standardized HR processes, training, safety, and labor initiatives. You will lead employee relations, union interactions, and labor-relations activities to support performance and compliance. You will collaborate with Lean and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and workforce development, shaping the site's culture and outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate staffing activities (recruiting, selections, placement) for the location
  • Oversee implementation of company policies and standardized processes
  • Develop and implement facility strategies (training, safety, compliance, labor)
  • Deploy compensation planning and talent management programs
  • Provide strategic HR solutions to plant management and staff
  • Lead employee relations programs and resolve workplace issues
  • Perform employee and labor relations duties including grievance handling
  • Consult business leaders on career development, staffing, discipline, performance, and talent management
  • Analyze HR metrics and implement action plans aligned with business objectives
  • Ensure training strategy development and implementation
  • Collaborate with Lean initiatives to support continuous improvement
  • Coordinate employee involvement and community programs
  • Ensure affirmative action plans and participate in OFCCP audits (US)
  • Coordinate facility communications (newsletters, meetings)
  • Ensure onboarding/orientation for new hires and contractors
  • Conduct internal investigations and testify at hearings if required
  • Work with Health & Safety to implement safety programs
  • Coordinate alignment with geographic leads for regional processes
  • Implement diversity strategy within the facility
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Union facility experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • PHR certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of HR law (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, ADEA)
  • Proven ability to build relationships with leaders
