Overview As VP, Senior Underwriting Manager for Energy Casualty, you will lead a market-facing team to drive profitable growth within Zurich's Global Specialties unit. You will shape underwriting strategy, coach a group of underwriters, and advance broker and client relationships to expand opportunities. The role blends leadership, negotiation, and risk selection to align accounts with Zurich's appetite while delivering solid business results. You will operate cross-functionally to win new and renewal business in a dynamic energy casualty market.

Responsibilities- Lead and develop a market-facing underwriting team of 6-8 professionals
- Identify growth opportunities with key distributors in the area of responsibility
- Qualify accounts to fit Zurich's appetite and business potential
- Hold agent/broker/customer and on-site meetings with purpose and preparation
- Negotiate Terms & Conditions and close deals
- Drive cross-sell within the area to increase product density
- Provide coaching on sales practices and mentor staff to grow broker/client networks related to Energy Casualty underwritten by the Business Unit
Key requirements- Bachelor Degree with 10+ years in Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier or Risk Management in Commercial Insurance, OR Bachelor Degree with 20+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support in Commercial Insurance AND Energy Casualty experience
- 2+ years of people management experience
