Overview In this role you support a large panel of private attorneys handling Mental Health Litigation matters, ensuring client-centered representation and adherence to CPCS standards. You'll help supervise and assist TPSU attorneys, manage resources and training, and respond to intake inquiries to improve outcomes for indigent clients. The position offers a hybrid schedule and opportunities to contribute to interagency initiatives. You will work with cross-functional teams to uphold CPCS values of courage, accountability, respect, and excellence.

Responsibilities- Provide support and advisory guidance to private panel attorneys in MHLD proceedings
- Offer billing support and technical assistance to trial panel attorneys
- Develop and disseminate resources such as practice advisories and pleading templates
- Collaborate with Regional Coordinators on panel performance evaluations
- Support MHLD Mentor program and onboarding of new panel attorneys
- Assist in evaluating applications to join the MHLD trial panel
- Coordinate Certification Trainings with Training Department
- Review Complex Case Reviews to adjust billing thresholds or dispositions
- Draft and communicate MHLD trial panel policies and performance standards
- Investigate complaints against panel attorneys and monitor dispositions
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, Audit & Oversight to resolve panel-related issues
- Respond to client calls to the MHLD intake line
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts or eligible for limited MA practice under SJC Rule 3:04
- Minimum five years of legal experience, including at least four years in Mental Health Litigation
- Access to reliable transportation statewide
- Home internet access sufficient for remote work
- Willingness to travel within Massachusetts

- Professional and collaborative relationship-building with private bar, courts, and organizations
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities
- Excellent writing, litigation, and oral presentation skills
