Overview As a Multifamily Underwriting Professional, you evaluate and structure loans for Targeted Affordable Housing, supporting Freddie Mac's mission to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible. You'll work within the TA H team to assess credit risk, review briefs, and ensure data quality for securitization. You will analyze pro forma statements, resolve issues, and present deals for approval, impacting affordable housing nationwide. Responsibilities- Underwrite TAH loans originated by Optigo Lenders and guide deals toward credit approval and closing
- Review Investment Briefs for clarity, completeness, and data quality for securitization
- Analyze pro forma financial statements, borrower financial position, market analysis, and property inspections; resolve issues escalated by third parties
- Collaborate with Producers to structure deals and present them for approval as needed
- Develop issue resolutions within defined procedures
- Support deal structuring and due diligence across multifamily properties to manage credit risk
- Maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and industry standards
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in multifamily or commercial real estate finance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel
- Experience with credit analysis and loan underwriting preferred
- Knowledge of market analysis, borrower financial position, and property inspections preferred
