Overview

In this role you will lead administrative, financial, and operational functions for the clinical sections within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. You will partner with Section Chiefs and leadership to align operations with the department's clinical, research, and education missions. You will drive process improvements, manage budgets, and monitor performance to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient care delivery. Responsibilities
  • Oversee clinical operations for ambulatory and inpatient programs to ensure high-quality care
  • Develop and implement operational strategies with clinical leaders to improve access, productivity, and workflows
  • Manage daily clinic operations, scheduling, space utilization, and cross-team coordination
  • Analyze operational challenges and implement solutions for capacity, staffing, and demand changes
  • Provide guidance on clinical processes, policies, and best practices to faculty and staff
  • Monitor clinical KPIs (access, volume, productivity, revenue cycle) and develop dashboards for improvement
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle, finance, access, quality improvement, and hospital partners to optimize performance
  • Support growth of clinical programs through workflow design and resource coordination
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to standardize processes across Psychiatry programs
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures to ensure consistent patient care delivery
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements and coordinate with hospital/ambulatory partners
  • Manage a team of clinical operations and administrative staff
  • Support cross-mission projects with research and education administration
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in related field
  • 7+ years of related work experience
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting experience (preferred)
  • Experience with hospital finance or revenue cycle (preferred)
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (preferred)
