Overview

In this role you will serve as the Chief Administrative Officer and legal advisor to the State Attorney, leading the office's administrative operations and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. You will shape policy, oversee budgets, HR, facilities, MIS, records, and information security, and manage civil litigation matters. This position sits on the executive leadership team and drives efficient, accountable government operations. You will work with cross agency partners to support prosecutorial and organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Advise the State Attorney on administrative, legal, and organizational matters
  • Establish and implement agency policies, procedures, and standards
  • Manage civil litigation, administrative proceedings, and legal disputes involving the Office
  • Develop, negotiate, and administer operating budgets
  • Oversee HR operations and personnel administration
  • Oversee facilities, security, records, and MIS management
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state information-security requirements (CJIS, NCIS, etc.)
  • Guide procurement, risk management, and public records compliance
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Member in good standing with The Florida Bar
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible management experience in government, legal administration, or related field
  • Experience in budgeting, personnel management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership
  • Experience interpreting and applying Florida law and governmental regulations
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects
  • Information-security compliance (CJIS, NCIS)
  • Management Information Systems (MIS) oversight
  • Public records compliance and records management
