Overview In this role you will assess CRE loan requests and manage portfolio risk, guiding credit structures and risk ratings. You will coordinate with Credit, Loan Administration, and other groups to ensure high-quality credit documents and streamlined workflows. You'll underwrite new originations and portfolio exposures, support deal and construction projects, and monitor portfolio performance. This role offers impact through risk management, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to credit quality at scale.

Responsibilities- Underwrite new originations and portfolio exposures across CRE asset classes
- Analyze borrower financials, cash flows, collateral, sponsor strength, covenants, and market conditions
- Prepare clear credit analyses and supporting documentation
- Execute straightforward credit requests with limited supervision
- Assist with annual company-wide credit reviews for clients with multiple properties
- Support existing property transactions including refinancings and construction budgets/draws
- Assist with new deal originations (typical sizes $50M-$100M, up to $750M)
- Participate in term sheet preparation and negotiation
- Spread borrower financial statements to bank standards
- Prepare quarterly trend analyses, covenant testing, and monitoring reports
- Maintain credit and financial databases; track credit agreement requirements and key metrics
- Participate in quarterly portfolio reviews and risk assessments
- Identify and communicate emerging risks and mitigants at transaction and portfolio levels
- Collaborate with Credit Approvers and risk partners; support client meetings as needed
- Serve as a reliable first line of credit analysis and escalate issues when appropriate
Key requirements- Ten or more years of commercial lending experience
- Strong CRE underwriting foundation across multiple property types
- Experience authoring credit memoranda and presenting risks and mitigants to approval committees
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills; translate diligence into clear narratives
- Strong verbal and written communication; cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to operate with accountability and drive analyses independently
- Familiarity with banking credit policy, loan docs, and CRE underwriting processes (construction, bridge, term, portfolio)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (cash flow modeling and scenario analysis); MS Office Suite
