Overview As Head of Everest Underwriting Partners, you lead the delegated authority platform with over $500M GWP, steering strategy, profitability, governance, and partner engagement. You'll shape the long-term plan, optimize capital deployment, and drive strong risk-adjusted returns. You work cross-functionally with Wholesale & Specialty, Operations, Finance, Actuarial, Legal, Compliance, and Technology to deliver value for clients, partners, and shareholders. Responsibilities- Set and execute the strategic vision for Everest Underwriting Partners in alignment with Everest Insurance and Global Wholesale & Specialty
- Drive profitable growth through disciplined portfolio management and capital deployment
- Develop and implement multi-year business plans with targets for production, retention, profitability, and operations
- Identify market opportunities, distribution trends, and partnerships to expand the delegated authority platform
- Contribute to enterprise planning as a member of the Wholesale & Specialty leadership team
- Define underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and growth priorities across Programs
- Ensure underwriting discipline and governance across delegated authority arrangements
- Evaluate and approve new program opportunities, assessing leadership, capabilities, controls, and performance
- Collaborate with actuarial, reinsurance, and underwriting leaders on performance, pricing, and risk trends
- Lead program expansion, remediation, restructuring, or termination decisions based on strategy and financials
- Sponsor strategic delegated authority relationships and negotiate program agreements and frameworks
- Maintain strong relationships with MGAs, MGUs, Program Administrators, brokers, and distribution partners
- Represent Everest as a market leader in delegated authority and program insurance
Key requirements- 15+ years in P&C insurance in North America
- 15+ years in delegated authority distribution channel
- Deep knowledge of core P&C products including property, casualty, liability and specialty lines
- Extensive P&L management experience for an insurance business
- Proven ability to develop and manage sales and distribution channels in a shifting market
- Extensive experience engaging with Program Administrators, MGAs and MGUs
- Strategic capability to lead across multiple lines and disciplines for growth and efficiency
- Strong leadership and team-building track record
- Understanding of the US insurance market across regions and segments
- Strong analytical and leadership skills with experience leading diverse teams
- Ability to collaborate across departments and deliver results
- Oversee underwriting strategy development and translate strategy into authority limits
