Overview In this role you drive profitable growth by underwriting and selling Middle Market technology-focused accounts. You work with cross-functional teams to balance risk and pricing aligned to Hanover's technology appetite. You advise and mentor junior underwriters while handling complex tech, product, professional, and cyber coverage needs. You operate with autonomy, delivering effective risk decisions and portfolio management. You'll join a team that shapes technology risk solutions for clients and partners.
Responsibilities- Conduct technical underwriting for technology-related lines, including products, professional, and cyber liability.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, CAT guidelines, and appropriate pricing using exposure analysis.
- Document files clearly and explain account decisions; generate quotes and proposals with precise rating instructions.
- Manage a portfolio to meet premium, profitability, retention, and mix goals, and analyze performance metrics for growth opportunities.
- Assess market factors affecting pricing and collaborate with agents to secure profitable new business.
- Identify, solicit, and close accounts aligned with technology strategy; mentor junior underwriters and share knowledge.
- Lead territory business planning and maintain a substantial pipeline for future growth.
- Collaborate with Claims, Risk Solutions, and Operations to demonstrate technical expertise and win opportunities.
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; 5-10+ years in standard commercial lines and 5+ years in Technology Industry experience
