Overview In this role you drive the global food safety and quality program for Chipotle's international partnerships. You collaborate with partners, suppliers, and internal teams to uphold high standards across distribution, manufacturing, and restaurant touchpoints. Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive food safety and QA strategy for international partnerships and joint ventures
- Conduct and oversee food safety/quality assessments at DCs, suppliers, and restaurants as needed
- Collaborate with Chipotle and licensee partners to evaluate programs and implement best practices
- Analyze data with suppliers and labs; collect samples and update quality documentation
- Establish data collection procedures and use SPC to analyze results
- Lead or participate in food safety and process improvement projects and summarize results
- Spend up to 50% of time in restaurants teaching, training, and coaching field leadership
- Perform announced and unannounced visits; document observations using a visit guide
- Monitor 3rd-party audit and regulatory results to target impactful visits
- Engage in operations leadership meetings to ensure consistent food safety messaging
- Be expert on Chipotle policies to assess adherence and provide coaching during visits
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or related field; Master's or PhD preferred
- 5-8 years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance experience
- 1-3 years of people leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience conducting supplier and DC audits, assessments, and quality evaluations
- Strong knowledge of food science, microbiology, food prep techniques, and quality management systems
- Ability to lead and execute food research, QA initiatives, and continuous improvement projects
- Skilled in data analysis, reporting, critical thinking, and using insights for decisions
- Working knowledge of domestic and international food regulations including nutrition and allergen requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Willingness to travel 50-60% for audits and project support
