Senior Manager - College of Arts and Sciences Operations

Overview

In this role you drive day-to-day operations and strategic projects for the College of Arts and Sciences, applying initiative and sound judgment to complex administrative decisions. You'll balance independent work with collaboration across teams and executives to support the college's mission. You will manage budgets, processes, and staff, translating policies into action and enabling cross-unit communication. This is a mission-driven role focused on operational excellence, data-informed reporting, and program support that scales with the college's strategic plan.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees administrative operations and confidential matters
  • Leads administrative staff in budgets, payroll, credentialing, and faculty searches
  • Interprets and communicates policies to faculty, staff, and students
  • Cultivates cross-unit communication with other university offices and external constituents
  • Manages budgets and funding for college initiatives per the strategic plan
  • Supports college academic component administrators, division heads, and staff
  • Oversees college-wide procedures for faculty searches, payroll, promotions, onboarding
  • Compiles data and prepares reports for senior management
  • Assists with payroll, merit, inequity, promotion and tenure processes
  • Manages college listservs
Key requirements
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience in a senior-level administrative role or related capacity
  • Proven ability to manage complex budgets and administrative processes
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with faculty searches, payroll entry, credentialing, and onboarding
  • Ability to interpret policies and provide guidance to staff and faculty
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products; Oracle Cloud experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a university setting
