Overview As an Underwriting Team Lead at AIG, you'll guide a property-focused E&S team and steer a balanced portfolio across primary, excess, and layered structures. You will partner with regional leadership to shape strategy, drive execution, and grow our E&S footprint while maintaining strong ties with wholesale partners. You'll mentor underwriters, provide technical guidance, and support portfolio management aligned with regional objectives. Responsibilities- Lead and develop the underwriting team within the zone, providing technical guidance and growth support
- Underwrite across the full E&S spectrum (primary, excess, and layered structures)
- Drive portfolio performance and profitability for the E&S book
- Collaborate with regional leadership to shape strategy and foster a high-performing culture
- Review, negotiate manuscript form wordings and coverages
- Maintain relationships with wholesale trading partners
- Assist with portfolio management and execution of regional business objectives
Key requirements- Minimum of 5 years of Commercial E&S underwriting experience
- Proven ability to lead and direct a team with a balanced portfolio across primary and excess placements
- Established relationships within the territory's wholesale brokerage community
- Prior team leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience with track record of developing underwriters
- Strong knowledge of CAT modeling (OEP/AEP, TvAR, AAL, TCPs) and ISO form usage
