Associate Actuarial Consultant - Commercial Property

Overview

In this role you will help shape actuarial products for Commercial Property and related lines, driving pricing innovations and addressing emerging risks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and justify actuarial solutions, including new rating factors and loss costs, while supporting filing activities and regulatory interactions. You will work on high-visibility projects, leading or contributing to analyses and presenting results to senior stakeholders. Responsibilities
  • Lead actuarial analyses to guide product enhancements and new pricing factors for Commercial Property and related lines
  • Collaborate with team directors to propose solutions and manage work products of team members
  • Support filing processes and interact with ISO Underwriting and other functional areas
  • Explain and defend actuarial work to senior management, customers, and regulatory bodies as needed
  • Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to provide actionable insights
  • Develop and maintain actuarial products and procedures for Commercial Property ratemaking
  • Present product updates and respond to customer inquiries with clear, data-driven rationale
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects to innovate actuarial and underwriting solutions
Key requirements
  • 7+ years of P&C actuarial experience
  • Property and/or pricing experience preferred
  • ACAS or higher preferred; Exam 5 required
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including presentations
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics modeling preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with ratemaking or classification methods preferred but not required
  • Strong computing skills such as SQL, Python, or R
