Senior Actuarial Analyst - Pricing

Overview

In this role you will perform complex pricing analyses and support actuarial filings to drive pricing decisions and product strategies. You will collaborate with Actuarial leadership, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to align pricing with organizational goals. You'll quantify rate impacts, validate proposed rates, and help develop new plans and processes with moderate complexity. This position offers cross-functional exposure, regulatory interaction, and opportunities to mentor junior staff while contributing to Kemper's customer-centric insurance solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Produce rate level indications using actuarial ratemaking concepts
  • Support state filing processes with memorandums, forms, regulator communications, rate impact measurement, and documentation
  • Quantify and validate proposed rates
  • Query and aggregate ratemaking data
  • Perform trend analyses (frequency and severity)
  • Automate/enhance processes to improve efficiencies
  • Assist in design/development of new plans, programs, or processes up to moderate complexity
  • Complete pricing projects and ad-hoc requests
  • Support management information for business partners about health of the business
  • Communicate effectively with management and business partners
  • Adhere to compliance standards
  • Assist in developing junior staff
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field
  • 4+ years as actuarial analyst or quantitative pricing analyst; P&C experience required
  • 4+ years as pricing actuarial analyst or quantitative pricing analyst (P&C experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel/VBA and SAS, Python or SQL
  • Successful completion of 5+ actuarial exams or equivalent knowledge
