Overview In this role, you advance infrared susceptibility and low observables (LO) technologies across concept to production lifecycle. You work with cross-functional teams to mature LO signature capabilities, modeling, and IR materials, contributing to fleet-scale integration and program reviews. You'll lead scientific investigations and coordinate multi-department efforts, shaping next-generation IR signature reduction. This is a high-impact position at the Skunk Works focused on breakthrough LO solutions and IR materials under DoD oversight.

Responsibilities- Lead LO signature maturation and advisory activities across IRAD/CRAD projects
- Perform modeling, simulation, and experiments for EO/IR data and LO phenomenology
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and participate in Government forums and program reviews
- Develop and evaluate IR materials and sensor concepts; support transition to production
- Support external Customer communication, marketing, and contract capture efforts
- Guide IP evaluations and potential patent considerations
- Manage and contribute to LO integration into air vehicle systems
- Lead or participate in research and development lifecycle from concept to prototyping and testing
Key requirements- Bachelor-level degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Optics, or Photonics
- Experience in IR, optics, photonics, CEM, RF, or electromagnetics
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher; ability to obtain Top Secret
