Overview As a PK/PD Modeling Scientist at Gilead, you will lead advanced PK/PD modeling across discovery and development to guide dose selection and translational predictions. You'll drive DMPK strategy through cross-functional collaboration and translate modeling insights into actionable decisions for project teams and regulatory submissions. You'll design and refine complex models, explore AI-enhanced workflows, and help shape translational strategies in a mission-driven, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities- Provide advanced PK/PK-PD modeling expertise on project teams across discovery and development stages to guide study design and interpretation
- Drive quantitative DMPK strategy and integrate modeling into decision-making with scientists, collaborators, and management
- Design, implement, and validate complex PK/PD and mechanistic models to address translational questions and support dose selection
- Develop and refine modeling workflows for nonclinical study design, including simulation-based parameter optimization and AI-enhanced approaches
- Collaborate with project teams, line management, and CROs to ensure timely, high-quality regulatory submission documents
- Participate in business development and licensing evaluations
Key requirements- Ph.D. with 5+ years of post-graduate industry experience in PK, drug metabolism, pharmaceutics, or related life science field with focus on quantitative modeling
- Strong foundation in PK/PD principles and ability to translate concepts into mathematical models
- Extensive experience in mechanistic PK/PD and multi-compartmental modeling with proficiency in Phoenix/WinNonlin, MATLAB/SimBiology, GastroPlus, SimBiology, R or equivalent tools
- Proven ability to design and interpret complex modeling workflows and communicate results to teams and management
- Hands-on experience applying AI to model-building and workflow automation
- Curiosity and ongoing engagement with advances in biologics DMPK and modeling, evidenced by publications, presentations, or professional involvement
