Overview In this role you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive transportation funding strategy for capital improvements and road bond programs. You'll monitor funding opportunities, assess eligibility, and guide grant applications while coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and funding partners. You will analyze data, create reporting visuals, and manage planning projects from concept to completion. The position also involves mentoring staff and potentially serving as project manager on select initiatives, contributing to multi-agency transportation efforts.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement transportation funding strategies for capital projects and road bond programs
- Monitor federal, state, regional, and discretionary funding opportunities and assess project eligibility
- Lead grant application development and post-award compliance, reporting, and reimbursement activities
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and funding partners; manage multi-discipline project teams
- Prepare/revise budgets, invoicing, fee proposals, and responses to RFPs; lead production of plans, studies, and environmental documents
- Lead public and stakeholder engagement and present information to communities
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff; support strategic planning and special projects
- May serve as project manager or task lead on medium to large-scale initiatives
- Coordinate with project manager, designers, and other disciplines to meet technical requirements
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field and 10 years related experience
- or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field and 9 years of relevant experience
- Consultation and mentoring of staff
- Client management and meeting facilitation
- Effective written and oral communication
- Experience with transportation funding and infrastructure grants
- Planning, environmental planning, urban design, and landscape architecture capabilities
