Senior Sourcing Specialist

Overview

As Category Buyer, you will strategically source repairs, spare parts, calibration services, and facility-related needs for Vallourec's South Region. You'll lead supplier selection, negotiate favorable terms, and optimize spend while ensuring quality, delivery, and compliance. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop commodity strategies and drive value through cost savings and risk management. This is an opportunity to shape regional procurement and support core manufacturing objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain commodity strategies with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Lead sourcing initiatives to deliver cost savings and mitigate risks
  • Consolidate regional and North American demand to leverage economies of scale
  • Perform cost analysis and recommend value improvements
  • Manage supplier lifecycle including qualification and performance management
  • Monitor market trends to identify risks, opportunities, and innovation
  • Manage end-to-end contracts: drafting, negotiation, execution, compliance
  • Represent sourcing on cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards, ethical sourcing, and company policies
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or Business (or 10+ years of relevant experience)
  • 3-5 years of sourcing or purchasing experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, negotiations, and supplier performance management
  • Experience sourcing industrial services/materials (repairs, spare parts, calibration preferred)
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
