Legal Counsel

In this role, you will provide general legal support for DHL Global Forwarding USA and Hillebrand, focusing on reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements. You will work with senior management to assess legal risks, develop mitigations, and guide internal clients on regulatory and contractual matters. You will lead projects, coordinate with outside counsel, and train teams on contract negotiations and compliance. • Provide general legal support for DHL Global Forwarding USA and Hillebrand on regulatory, contractual, transactional, and compliance topics
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on customer, non-disclosure, and service agreements
• Meet with senior management to discuss ongoing legal issues and risk mitigation
• Lead projects impacting business operations and revenue, coordinating with management and outside counsel
• Monitor new laws and regulations in transportation and logistics and assess impact on operations
• Train internal customers and global business managers on legal issues and contract negotiations
• Manage outside counsel and external legal budget when appropriate
• Conduct legal research to support business initiatives and decision-making
• Ensure adherence to company policies; coordinate with HR on misconduct investigations
• Serve as lead legal contact for select high-revenue customers
• Coordinate training for employees on anti-trust, anti-bribery, and AML compliance

• B.A. (accredited)
• J.D. (U.S.) from an accredited law school
• 7+ years in corporate legal environment
• Licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
• Experience in multinational corporations with commercial contracts and corporate law
• Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision
• Experience advising senior-level personnel on significant issues
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and tight timelines
• Excellent writing and negotiation skills
• Global Forwarding experience and knowledge of international treaties a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office and database systems
