Overview In this role you lead the Midwest Region Construction Practice, shaping strategy, client growth, and operational excellence. You'll manage multidisciplinary teams delivering construction, EPC, and program management services to target clients, while upholding safety, quality, and profitability. You'll drive go-to-market plans, budgets, and contract negotiations to achieve regional revenue and net income goals. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on client satisfaction and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities- Represent and lead the Midwest Region Construction Practice
- Identify key target clients and organize a focused sales approach
- Recruit, hire, develop and retain employee-owners
- Manage a multidisciplinary team delivering Construction, EPC, and Program Management services
- Develop and administer marketing and client budgets
- Implement project execution safety, quality and financial controls
- Develop long-term growth plans and strategic business initiatives
- Direct business strategies including pricing, marketing, and customer retention
- Oversee project scope, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination across projects
- Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and pre-sell strategy
- Build relationships with partners and subcontractors
- Manage sales, revenue and net income goals for the MWR Construction Global Practice
- Succession planning for the MWR Construction Organization
- Coordinate staff development, quality control, and resource alignment
- Conduct performance evaluations and champion diversity initiatives
- Support organizational culture and values in line with Burns & McDonnell standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in related field with 10 years of relevant consulting experience
- 5 years' experience managing EPC or similar delivery model projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex information
- Proven budget, scheduling, and client coordination capabilities
- Experience with government, industry, private, and public contracts
- Demonstrated track record of budget, savings and profitability
- Project management experience with energy-related projects preferred
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, Microsoft Project or equivalent
