Overview In this role you will provide cross-functional actuarial leadership for registered index-linked annuities (RILA), guiding financial modeling, product development, in-force management, and risk controls. You will collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to quantify risk and propose optimal strategies, while mentoring others and contributing to industry-leading RILA knowledge. The role combines hands-on modeling, governance of actuarial outputs, and external-facing communication to shape strategy and risk management. This is a chance to influence core product and risk decisions at a key insurance organization.

Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional and senior-level meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Work independently with clear priorities, deadlines, and status updates for senior management
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management
- Oversee actuarial methodologies, product implementations, and project work products
- Direct production of actuarial outputs (reserves, cash flows, pricing, experience data) and improve methods and controls
- Manage cross-functional projects with plans, tasks, and resource allocation
- Develop staff capabilities and deploy controls across teams
- Serve as an expert resource in regulatory, professional, or technical actuarial knowledge
- Identify issues, propose solutions, and secure resources to resolve risks
- Pursue and represent emerging technical knowledge at industry forums
Key requirements- Expert knowledge of actuarial mathematics/concepts and ability to lead others in applying them
- Expert in RILA or indexed annuities
- Advanced knowledge in at least one other insurance product line (life, annuities)
- Expert in at least one key actuarial field (pricing, financial reporting, data analysis, modeling, or asset/liability management)
- Advanced experience in at least one other actuarial field
- Broad understanding of multiple actuarial processes
- Proficiency with actuarial tools (SAS, Python, ALFA)
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences in writing and speech
- Ability to lead large cross-functional teams and complex projects
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgement capabilities
- Flexible thinking to adapt models and integrate various data sources
- Pursuit of FSA designation preferred and ongoing education at times
- RILA or indexed annuity experience required
- Bachelor's degree in related quantitative field; years of actuarial experience indicative by seniority
