Overview

In this role you will lead casualty underwriting initiatives at Western World within AIG, overseeing large submissions, portfolio profitability, and product development. You will collaborate across underwriting, actuarial, claims, and product development to launch new casualty solutions and support brokers. Your leadership will shape underwriting guidelines, appetite tools, and market strategies while representing the casualty line at internal and external events. This is a chance to drive risk management and innovative product offerings for a broad broker network.

Responsibilities
  • Review and approve large submissions beyond Western World underwriters' authority
  • Prepare and coordinate product-line training for underwriters and staff
  • Identify new market opportunities and support cross-sell for casualty
  • Monitor metrics to manage portfolio profitability and meet business objectives
  • Engage with Western World wholesalers to gather feedback for product innovation
  • Develop underwriting strategies and risk selection criteria for casualty
  • Assist in creating underwriting guidelines, appetite flyers, and referral tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products
  • Provide technical guidance on casualty coverage forms, endorsements, and exclusions
  • Represent casualty product line in meetings and broker/events, and communicate product positioning and benefits
Key requirements
  • Broad insurance industry experience with casualty specialization
  • Min 10+ years of insurance operational management experience
  • Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution
  • Process and system skills
