Responsibilities- Advise senior management on complex legal issues within a line of business or practice area
- Negotiate with clients and leaders, influencing important legal matters
- Research legal principles and precedents in your area of expertise
- Identify and communicate risk and recommend mitigations
- Draft, negotiate and execute legal documents
- Monitor external legal developments and maintain client relationships
- Mentor junior attorneys or paralegals/staff
- Review and approve external legal invoices within authority
- Leverage technology and automation in legal practice
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Ten years of legal experience as a practicing attorney
- Experience managing complex commercial litigation and strategy
- Prior experience in insurance defense, coverage litigation, or in-house litigation management preferred
- Familiarity with management liability policy forms (D&O, E&O, EPL) and cyber liability forms
- Experience with breach response provisions and ransomware/extortion clauses
- Familiarity with fidelity and crime policy forms
- Experience providing coverage analysis on management liability claims
- Active license to practice law in required states
