Overview As an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Protection Division (Bangor), you will lead high-volume DHHS child protection litigation, shaping strategy and delivering effective advocacy. You will work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, handling expedited cases and multi-day trials while trainings staff and contributing to child welfare matters. This role offers meaningful impact in protecting vulnerable families and opportunities to develop appellate writing. You will engage with clients, manage complex calendars, and leverage law-office technology to drive results.

Responsibilities- Litigate DHHS child protection cases in the Bangor area with a high-volume caseload
- Manage trial practice, motions, negotiations, and client communications
- Conduct regular trainings for DHHS child welfare staff and contribute to child welfare work
- Develop litigation strategy quickly after pleadings and handle multiple court appearances weekly
- Engage in sophisticated legal writing with potential appellate opportunities
- Maintain calendar and file management, and use law office technology for research and documentation
Key requirements- Maine Bar in good standing
