Overview

As Property Tax Senior Manager, you guide a team to deliver compliant property tax filings, appeals, and advisory services for assigned clients. You maintain client relationships, oversee the annual cycle, and drive opportunities for tax minimization and revenue growth. You lead valuation analysis, settlements, and hearings while upholding Ryan's values and professional standards. This role offers leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a chance to shape client outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Managers and staff to deliver property tax compliance, consulting, and appeal services
  • Lead annual property tax filings, review valuations, and manage appeal processes for assigned accounts
  • Research tax issues, negotiate settlements, and prepare/ present assessment-related materials
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships; coordinate client communications and status updates
  • Oversee client audits, hearings, and settlement conferences; manage scope and terms of services
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide performance feedback to team; ensure workload distribution and policy compliance
  • Involvement in business development, client expansion, and cross-selling efforts
  • Participate in professional organizations, seek speaking opportunities, and contribute to thought leadership
  • Manage client billing and ensure timely receivables; ensure alignment with firm policies
Key requirements
  • University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management or MBA/MST/JD preferred
  • At least seven years property tax related experience
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments amid ambiguity
  • Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Access and internet research
  • Valid driver's license; professional designations such as CMI or CCIM preferred
  • Experience with valuation, compliance processes, and jurisdictional expertise
  • Client service orientation and experience in negotiations and settlements
