Overview

As a Senior Cyber/E&O Facultative Underwriter, you will manage and grow cyber and E&O business within a service-driven team. You will assess profitability by analyzing underwriting, claims, and financial data while renewing business under the company's philosophy. You will cultivate relationships with ceding companies and intermediaries, support production and marketing, and coordinate with claims and accounting to meet corporate objectives. This role offers exposure to a dynamic, fast-paced underwriting portfolio with opportunities to influence marketplace factors. You will work with cross-functional teams to support Everest's mission of risk management and long-term value creation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow cyber and E&O facultative business (A&E, Misc., Lawyers, Agents/Brokers, Real Estate/Title) with some D&O
  • Analyze new business for profitability using underwriting, claims, and financial data
  • Underwrite renewal business per current approach and philosophy in a service-oriented environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ceding company underwriters and reinsurance intermediaries; solicit new business
  • Assist in production and marketing development and coordination
  • Collaborate with claims, accounting, and other functions to support company objectives
  • Assess and communicate competitive factors to the underwriting team and senior management
  • Travel as needed
Key requirements
  • BA/BS degree; advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of Professional Liability underwriting experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to produce concise reports for senior management
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills; ability to use data analytics to draw conclusions
  • Strong interpersonal and social skills; team-oriented
  • In-depth knowledge of the US insurance and reinsurance markets
  • Solid negotiation and relationship management with brokers and ceding underwriters
  • Ability to meet daily demands in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
