Senior Project Manager / Business Development Professional - Environmental Services for Mining

Overview

In this role, you will drive growth of Stantec's mining services across the western United States. You'll work with cross-functional teams to expand client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and lead complex mining projects from concept through completion. You help shape the mining sector strategy and deliver integrated services that align with our safety, quality, and ethics standards. This position combines business development with senior project leadership to impact our regional market and client outcomes. You'll join a collaborative, safety-focused culture that values diversity and long-term partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Set and execute the western US mining growth vision and regional expansion
  • Manage and grow multiple mining sector client accounts and relationships
  • Identify, pursue, and lead mining business development opportunities aligned with strategic plan
  • Promote an integrated services approach and drive revenue growth across Stantec offerings
  • Collaborate with regional leaders to achieve performance targets and recruit/retain skilled staff
  • Provide project leadership across permitting, budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory coordination
  • Mentor staff in technical practices, regulatory strategy, and project management
  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and local governments; oversee environmental studies and NEPA-related work
  • Ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance across final products
  • Lead cross-line collaboration to deliver integrated service packages and foster a safety culture
  • Attract and develop sector-specific expertise and strengthen client relationships
  • Travel as needed and uphold safety, ethics, and diversity commitments
Key requirements
  • Strong project management and business development experience with mining clients
  • Client account management experience with annual net revenue >$5M
  • Solid mining sector understanding and credibility with clients
  • Extensive environmental consulting background serving mining needs
  • Team player who can lead and operate in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to translate mining client needs into practical solutions
  • Travel flexibility and valid driver's license
  • Regulatory strategy and NEPA experience preferred
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality technical and regulatory reports
