Overview As a Project Manager in Perkins&Will's Healthcare practice, you drive complex design projects from scope through construction administration. You will lead project teams, foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, and ensure delivery on time and within budget. You'll balance client needs with design excellence while upholding firm standards and pursuing Living Design initiatives. This role offers hands-on responsibility, mentorship, and ongoing opportunities to shape healthcare environments at scale.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage all aspects of projects to ensure efficient execution within scope and budget
- Direct project teams and foster collaboration to achieve high performance and successful delivery
- Develop and validate project scope, fee, budget, and services during marketing and contract phases
- Provide timely communication with clients and project teams, and maintain clear project information flow
- Use Deltek Project Management system to plan, track, and manage resources, schedule, budgets, and changes
- Collaborate with Project Architect to resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain project alignment
- Maintain ongoing communications through meetings, minutes, and memos across stakeholders
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and sub-consultants to ensure effective collaboration
- Monitor construction administration during the construction phase
- Support marketing opportunities and nurture client relationships for repeat business
- Assess risk and address client or technical issues promptly to minimize liability
- Review work for accuracy and compliance with the Project Delivery Manual
- Coordinate staffing resources with Operations Director and provide mentorship to staff
Key requirements- 8-10+ years of experience in project management within architecture/healthcare environments
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication and ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity with budget, scope, and contract development processes
- Experience with project controls and Deltek Project Management system
- Knowledge of building codes and life safety requirements
- Ability to manage design and construction documentation and administration
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related discipline (required)
- Professional licensure preferred (e.g., architectural license)
- LEED GA within 6 months of hire (preferred)
