Overview In this role you lead a Workers' Compensation Claims team to ensure high-quality claim handling, accurate file management, and compliant service. You guide daily operations, coach staff, and drive performance and continuous improvement within ESIS's claims framework. You will influence loss cost management and customer service while aligning with ESIS and carrier requirements. Responsibilities- Lead and develop the claims team to improve technical quality of files
- Assign new claims based on needs and workload; set reserves and directions for adjusters
- Monitor compliance, file documentation, and timely deadlines; review key checkpoints for quality and fraud indicators
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and staff development; manage attendance and service standards
- Support litigation strategy and claims resolution planning; participate in account discussions when escalations occur
- Conduct quality audits, file reviews, and training on jurisdictional and account-specific requirements
- Balance caseloads for workload equity and support timely claim closure
- Coordinate training and knowledge sharing to reinforce ESIS practices and values
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred
- Strong WC claims knowledge with at least 5 years of handling experience (ESIS or similar)
- Knowledge of WC products, coverages, and legal principles; cost containment and account management
- Professional designations such as AIC, ARM, AICPCU or equivalent preferred
- Proven planning, organizational, and people management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with leaders, attorneys, clients, and brokers
- Ability to evaluate programs, implement improvements, and apply leadership and facilitation skills
- License requirement: resident or designated home state adjuster license; exam licensing support available for up to 4 months
