Overview In this role you will estimate electrical costs for industrial construction projects, supporting timely, budget-conscious delivery. You will work closely with project managers and engineers in the preconstruction phase to provide expert insights that drive project success. You'll perform takeoffs, quantify materials and labor, and refine estimates using Accubid and other estimation tools. You will help improve estimating processes through data analysis and foster strong supplier/subcontractor relationships. Responsibilities- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for industrial construction projects
- Review project plans and specifications to identify quantities of materials and labor
- Utilize Accubid and other estimation software to create accurate project estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information for estimates
- Conduct takeoffs from plans and specifications to determine material quantities and labor costs
- Lead preconstruction meetings to discuss estimates and provide technical expertise
- Analyze historical data to improve estimating processes and accuracy
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry
- Proven experience with Accubid or similar estimating software
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
