Overview

In this role you will oversee the most strategic client portfolio, driving profit and growth through optimized product performance. You will partner with Product Managers and the Underwriting Lead to translate data insights into actionable strategies, improve pricing, and manage loss trends. You'll craft compelling client presentations and act as the technical authority for clients and the integration team. Your binding authority will directly influence portfolio financial outcomes while shaping innovative solutions with HSB resources.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and optimize the portfolio for key client relationships to drive profitability
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Underwriting Lead to introduce and improve products
  • Apply data analysis (diagnostic and predictive) to understand performance and guide strategy
  • Analyze claims, engineering reports, expenses, exposure data, and loss trends to inform pricing and segmentation
  • Develop and deliver external client presentations on financial results, analyses, and trends
  • Exercise underwriting binding authority to influence portfolio financial outcomes
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for profit and growth within the book of business
Key requirements
  • 7+ years of P&C insurance/reinsurance experience
  • 5+ years in underwriting preferred
  • Understanding of commercial and personal lines insurance and reinsurance concepts
  • Ability to translate large data analyses into actionable decisions
  • Experience with rate development (pure premium), price segmentation, and detecting loss trends
  • Proven track record of achieving profit and growth targets
  • Negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Creative problem-solving and solution development
  • Familiarity with HSB products is a plus
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Time management and project management abilities
  • Proficiency with PC tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Word
