Overview In this role you will underwrite casualty risk for large accounts (typically 500+ employees) using loss-sensitive plans, while supporting field teams in new business and renewal activities. You will analyze information to price risk, manage profitability, and drive portfolio growth for National Accounts. You'll collaborate across teams, refine rating concepts and coverage terms, and identify opportunities to expand The Hartford's National Account footprint. Responsibilities- Underwrite casualty lines for large accounts and loss-sensitive plans
- Assist Field Team in underwriting new business and managing renewal book
- Analyze underwritten data to assess and price risk per account
- Collaborate with Field Team on portfolio management and territorial growth
- Identify required information and analyze loss trends and sources
- Develop mastery of loss rating concepts and rating plans; justify pricing decisions
- Follow underwriting and pricing guidelines; escalate deviations
- Evaluate coverage terms and respond to account/broker requests using guidance
- Maintain positive relationships with Field Team and management; communicate decisions
- Identify opportunities to expand reach and profitability of National Accounts
- Participate in new business/renewal presentations and tool/project improvements
Key requirements- 5+ years of P&C underwriting experience
- National Accounts loss-sensitive experience preferred
- Proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external partnerships
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
