Overview In this Partner-level role, lead and grow the Fort Lauderdale Employment Law practice, shaping strategy and mentoring a team. You will handle complex employment matters, counsel employers, and drive client development with firm support. This is a strategic leadership position within a national firm, offering collaboration across practices and opportunities to expand the client base. You will help set the vision for a thriving Employment Law division and raise the firm's profile through thought leadership and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities- Lead a caseload of complex employment law matters (discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour, FMLA, compliance)
- Represent employers before federal/state courts and agencies (EEOC, DOL)
- Provide proactive counsel and training on risk mitigation and regulatory compliance
- Develop and grow a client portfolio with BD/Marketing support
- Attend networking events and contribute to thought leadership to raise brand
- Manage a team of attorneys and staff within the practice as Unit Lead
- Mentor junior attorneys and foster a collaborative culture
- Participate in departmental strategic planning and firm leadership initiatives
- Collaborate with Labor & Employment, General Liability, Corporate, and other practice groups
- Advance integrated, client-centric service model
Key requirements- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Florida Bar in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of employment law defense experience (litigation, counseling, regulatory)
- Experience leading a team or managing attorneys in a law firm
- Portable book of business strongly preferred or ability to generate business with support
- Proven client relationship management and practice development success
- Outstanding written and verbal communication
- Strategic thinking balancing legal rigor with business priorities
- Entrepreneurial drive and leadership presence
- Trust-building, accountability, and collaboration in teams
- Deep understanding of federal and Florida employment laws (FLSA, ADA, Title VII, FMLA)
