Overview In this role you will support Baldwin's Employee Benefits practice by applying underwriting and actuarial methods to analyze claims, model contributions, and deliver client-focused insights. You will collaborate with advisors, sales, actuarial, and account teams to surface integrated recommendations that drive plan performance. You will manage data, dashboards, and carrier relationships to monitor trends and costs. This is an analytics-heavy, cross-functional position that helps clients optimize medical, dental, and vision benefits. Responsibilities- Lead monthly client deliverables and prepare dashboard exhibits
- Maintain ongoing communication with carriers to monitor claims
- Stay current with employee benefits products and trends
- Develop employer/employee contribution strategies and projection-based modeling
- Apply underwriting and actuarial modeling tools to analyze claims and project renewal costs
- Collaborate with advisor, sales, actuarial, and account management teams for integrated analyses
- Support additional team projects as needed
- Provide data manipulation and formatting expertise
- Support medical utilization project-based work
Key requirements- Bachelor
- Experience with a carrier, medical preferred
- Working knowledge of medical, dental, and vision carrier market financials, products, and benefit offerings
- Knowledge of plan funding arrangements (fully insured, level-funded, self-funded)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong mathematical ability
- Effective written and verbal communication for clients and colleagues
- Ability to work in a team and across cross-functional groups
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; Excel and PowerPoint skills
