Overview As a Breast Surgeon, you contribute to the region's largest Breast Health program within a leading women's and newborn health hospital. You diagnose and surgically treat benign and malignant breast diseases, focusing on breast cancer care, while providing peri-operative planning, counseling, and ongoing surveillance. You may engage in teaching and potentially hold an academic appointment. The role supports multidisciplinary care in a teaching ecosystem and includes second-call rotations.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and surgically treat benign and malignant breast diseases with a focus on breast cancer care
- Evaluate patients and determine appropriate surgical treatment plans
- Provide comprehensive peri-operative care, patient counseling, and ongoing surveillance
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, surgeons, RNs, MAs, LICSWs, and genetic counselors
- Precept medical students, residents, and fellows; potential academic appointment with Brown University Alpert Medical School
- EPIC electronic medical record implementation across the health system
- Fellowship-training in Breast Surgical Oncology preferred
- Rotational 2nd call responsibilities
