Overview

As Project Architect at Stantec, you lead the technical execution of design, codes, and project documentation to ensure quality and compliance. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated, sustainable design solutions and advance project objectives. You mentor junior staff and help plan staffing and schedules, shaping the project's design criteria. You'll stay current with codes and new technologies to drive innovative approaches that elevate project outcomes. This role offers impact across sectors like data centers, healthcare, and academic projects.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and select standard construction components to fulfill design intent
  • Plan and coordinate detailed phases of professional work on major or moderately scoped projects
  • Ensure compliance with codes and ADA requirements
  • Assist Project Director with staffing hours and project schedule
  • Coordinate layouts, design, drafting, and specs produced by other architects and technicians
  • Mentor junior staff and support development of future project architects
  • Assist in establishing project design criteria with Project Director
  • Stay informed on new developments and systems affecting architectural practice
  • Promote technologies and methodologies to improve technical quality and stay current with building codes and industry advances
  • Collaborate in cross-discipline teams to produce integrated project documents and solutions
Key requirements
  • Higher Education or Science & Technology experience
  • Academic, Data Center, or Healthcare experience a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of architectural practice
  • Thorough knowledge of code principles
  • Ability to use Revit and/or BIM software
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead others and foster teamwork
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and timely decisions
  • Knowledge of basic firm financial metrics related to project management
  • Proactive management style
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • At least 6 years of related experience
  • Must be a Registered Architect
