Employee Relations Specialist

Overview

In this role you will foster a positive, compliant work environment by guiding managers and employees through employee relations matters. You will investigate workplace issues, coach on performance and disciplinary actions, and ensure fair application of policies and labor laws. You will lead mediations, train staff on inclusion and anti-harassment, and maintain confidential case records. You will collaborate with HRBPs and legal counsel, stay updated on employment law, and drive engagement initiatives to strengthen workplace culture. This is a hands-on position at the Florence, KY campus with potential for cross-functional impact.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct impartial investigations into employee complaints and alleged misconduct
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance management, discipline, and policy interpretation
  • Facilitate mediations and conflict resolution to resolve disputes
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and labor laws across the organization
  • Develop and deliver training on communication, conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and anti-harassment
  • Maintain confidential records of employee relations cases
  • Partner with HRBPs and legal counsel on complex issues and compliance
  • Monitor employment law changes and update policies as needed
  • Contribute to initiatives to enhance employee engagement and workplace culture
  • Prepare reports and analyze data on employee relations trends
Key requirements
  • 3-5 years of progressive employee relations experience, preferably in manufacturing or technology
  • Some high-volume ER case experience focusing on non-exempt population
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII)
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and listening skills
  • Excellent conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
