Responsibilities- Provide independent assessment of NA reserves and reserve risks to ensure adequacy and accuracy
- Apply sound, innovative reserving methodologies aligned with Global Risk Solutions
- Communicate quarterly reserve analyses to NA leadership
- Lead and develop a technically and commercially-minded reserving capability
- Mentor and develop team members for senior actuarial and business leadership roles
- Provide proactive business insights and monitor macroeconomic factors affecting results
- Collaborate with underwriting, pricing, claims and finance to agree a common view of the business
- Identify emerging trends and propose timely corrective actions
- Apply innovative tools and approaches to reserve analysis
- Ensure data quality and consistent application in the reserving process
- Foster a culture of technical rigor, transparency, and governance
- Implement a governance framework ensuring reserving guidelines are applied and compliant with controls and audits
- Collaborate with broader actuarial and strategic units to share knowledge
- Pursue process improvements and stay updated on reserving methodologies and external issues
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree (required)
- Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation required, or comparable actuarial education/designation with relevant experience
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management of a P&C business
- Ability to participate effectively on the senior management team
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of casualty actuarial techniques, standards, and assumptions
- Expert knowledge of insurance operations and P&C insurance business
- Excellent management and communication skills
