Overview In this role you will craft and close real estate leases for Zipline's drone charging infrastructure, working closely with the Site Acquisition team. You will manage the end-to-end contracting process, from scoping to execution, ensuring efficient, high-volume transactions. You'll develop deep expertise in Zipline's lease forms and playbooks, while improving templates to support business goals. This role sits in a collaborative in-house legal function and contributes to fast, reliable infrastructure development that scales globally.
Responsibilities- Draft, negotiate, and close real estate leases for drone charging infrastructure, maintenance and testing facilities from initial draft to execution
- Lead the contracting process across Site Acquisition, Land Use (Legal), Finance, and other internal teams
- Develop expertise in Zipline's lease forms and negotiation strategies; improve templates to support transaction efficiency
- Support landlord escalations and lease management processes
- Build and socialize repeatable deal processes to bring predictability to clients on the Site Acquisitions Team
- Foster strong relationships with Site Acquisition Team members and provide cross-functional support as needed
Key requirements- 3-5 years of relevant legal experience in commercial real estate transactions
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate leases
- JD Degree; member in good standing of at least one state bar; US work eligibility
- Clear, pragmatic contract drafting, communication, and project management skills for high-volume transactions
- Ability to solve practical legal problems, work through ambiguity, and exercise sound judgment in novel scenarios
