Overview

In this role you will serve as a trusted legal partner to ADI's Aerospace & Defense business, shaping strategy and risk management for highly regulated programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable growth while ensuring compliance with government contracting rules. You'll lead complex commercial and defense-related negotiations and coordinate international expansion. This high-visibility position combines technology, national security-adjacent markets, and global growth at a leading semiconductor company.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as embedded legal partner to ADEF and collaborate with expert counsel
  • Develop deep understanding of ADI technologies, customers, regulatory environment, and defense/space/secure communications markets
  • Provide pragmatic legal advice balancing speed and risk in regulated environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and counsel to resolve issues efficiently
  • Guide customers and internal stakeholders on contract and legal matters from customer perspective
  • Lead and support negotiations for complex commercial agreements (long-term supply and development agreements; government-adjacent/defense contracts)
  • Advise on U.S. government contracting and flow-down issues in coordination with SMEs
  • Support expansion outside the U.S. with regional legal teams and outside counsel
  • Issue-spot and advise on FAR/DFARS, export controls, trade compliance, sanctions, data handling, and security
  • Ensure activities align with ADI policies and risk frameworks
  • Support contract disputes and responses to government letters; manage issues to minimize disruption
  • Contribute to LRO governance, playbooks, and collaborative initiatives
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and active license in at least one US jurisdiction
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant U.S. federal government contracting experience (law firm, in-house, or government)
  • Experience with FAR, DFARS, and government contracting practices for technology supplying to aerospace/defense
  • Experience supporting government contracts through lifecycle (proposal to closeout)
  • Experience with international/cross-border matters and coordinating with regional legal teams
  • Ability to advise in executive discussions with solid business judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; credible presence and judgment
