PL Product Manager

Overview

In this role you drive the strategy, design, and delivery of assigned Personal Lines products to meet customer and agent needs. You collaborate across business units to ensure market fit, regulatory compliance, and profitability while aligning with Hanover's mission to be the agents' carrier of choice. You lead analysis, vendor partnerships, and product performance tracking to support growth and value delivery. Your work shapes product launches, pricing, and risk management in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Define and drive product strategy and roadmap for assigned products and features
  • Research new product ideas, emerging risks, and market trends
  • Refine policy forms and coverage language to manage risk
  • Create leadership presentations with cost-benefit and ROI projections
  • Manage pilot programs and phased deployments
  • Collaborate with Product Owner on rollout strategies and systems implementation
  • Develop training content with Marketing for internal teams and external agents
  • Track post-launch KPIs and analyze adoption metrics
  • Work with Pricing and Underwriting to ensure competitiveness and profitability
  • Identify improvements to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain competitor comparisons and identify gaps and opportunities
  • Monitor industry topics through Claims, Underwriting, and Field Teams
  • Manage vendor partnerships and ensure value and alignment with objectives
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for product performance
  • Conduct data analysis to communicate trends and insights
  • Design products and endorsements using research and market feedback
  • Drive adoption strategies and optimize funnel metrics for launches
  • Provide product training and consultation to stakeholders
Key requirements
  • 7+ years in product management or related roles within Personal Lines insurance
  • Strong knowledge of policy forms, coverages, underwriting, and pricing
  • Market awareness of competitive conditions and regulatory guidelines in the U.S.
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI; familiarity with PM tools
