Overview

In this role you will lead all hygiene activities at the Hunt Valley Plant, ensuring food safety, quality, and sanitation performance. You will develop, validate, and implement sanitation practices and training, aligning with the Quality Manager and McCormick's High-Performance Culture. You'll drive improvements in sanitation programs and KPIs, partnering with cross-functional teams to prevent sanitation-related failures. This is a hands-on leadership position with a focus on training, systems, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee sanitation and GMP compliance, manage pest and environmental control programs, and drive corrective actions
  • Lead the plantwide sanitation program to meet site objectives and metrics
  • Develop technical guidance on sanitation, hygienic design, and controls
  • Define and resource sanitation activities with cross-functional teams to execute the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and perform RCCA
  • Provide direction for daily management and prioritization of direct reports across shifts
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve sanitation programs, procedures, and metrics
  • Conduct cleaning, CIP and allergen validations
  • Support production sanitation systems, equipment, and tooling through training, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Key requirements
  • BSc in Food Science, Sanitation, Food Safety, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Food Technology, Microbiology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge in sanitation, HACCP, microbiology, pest control, and quality systems
  • Experience with sanitation services including COP, CIP, validation/verification, and allergen controls
  • Experience with SAP and MES systems
  • Proven change leadership and ability to influence across the organization without direct reporting lines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to break down complex tasks for diverse employees
  • Problem-solving with a curious, tenacious approach
