Overview In this role you will drive capital sourcing to reduce risk and cut costs while aligning with SpaceX's strategy on delivery and cash targets. You'll build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to optimize sourcing models and ensure a robust supplier base for ambitious programs. You will lead cost-reduction initiatives, supplier evaluations, and make-vs-buy decisions across product lifecycles. This fast-moving, cross-functional role offers exposure to high-impact procurement work that supports SpaceX's growth and multi-planetary mission.
Responsibilities- Create capital sourcing strategies to reduce risk and achieve cost savings
- Manage internal stakeholder relationships to optimize sourcing models
- Maintain continuous cost reduction programs
- Drive supplier compliance to category strategies
- Evaluate suppliers for capability, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness
- Conduct strategic supplier analyses and develop sourcing plans for new product introductions
- Execute purchasing transactions and ensure on-time delivery
- Lead cost-reduction projects with cross-functional coordination
- Provide market intelligence to inform strategic opportunities
- Lead initiatives to improve supplier quality, total cost, service levels, and risk compliance
- Benchmark performance metrics and trends against budget monthly
- Drive make-vs-buy decisions across product lifecycles
- Execute RFIs/RFPs, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships
- Negotiate terms for multimillion-dollar contracts including IP and export compliance
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree and 1+ years in Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Contract negotiation, or related fields
- Or 4+ years in one or more of the same areas
- Strong written and verbal communication
