Overview In this role you will provide high level administration and support for WebLogic, WebSphere, and related middleware on Unix. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain stability, implement best practices, and resolve complex Level 3 issues. The role involves performance tuning, capacity planning, and scripting to automate tasks, with on call weekend support and involvement in security and testing efforts. You will contribute to scalable, reliable systems that underpin critical banking and cash management applications.
Responsibilities- Stability management and resolution of Level 3 middleware issues
- Design, develop, and support scalable, reusable solutions
- Interact with partners to develop and enforce standards
- Provide performance tuning and architectural guidance
- EOVS and vulnerability assessment resolutions
- Capacity management and patch coordination for Linux servers
- Support COB testing and L3 on call weekend support
- Expert WebLogic/WebSphere administration across pre-prod environments
- Configure and manage web servers and WebSphere Plugin components
- Develop WebSphere scripts (Python) and use ws-admin tooling
- SSL configuration and certificate management
- Troubleshoot JVM, memory, and connectivity issues
- Gather and diagnose logs and dumps for problem determination
- Familiarity with IHS Web Server, Tomcat, and OpenShift/ECS/Docker environments
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Ansible automation
- Support on call and 24/7 flexibility
Key requirements- 6-8 years in middleware/web technologies (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat)
- High level WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server administration on Unix
- Experience with AHS, Tomcat, and OpenShift ECS Docker environments
- Python scripting and Ansible automation experience
- Strong debugging, problem solving, and performance tuning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication to technical partners
- Experience with CI/CD and iterative development methodologies
- Unix operating system expertise
- Understanding of banking/cash management applications is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with SSL, certificates, and JVM/JNDI concepts
- Familiar with ws-admin tooling and WebSphere configuration tasks
- IHS Web Server administration experience
- Ability to work independently or in a team, and to support 24/7 operations
- ServiceNow experience and Ansible Tower knowledge are advantageous
