Overview In this role you contribute to scalable e-commerce recommendations for TikTok Shop, shaping how users discover products through live streams, short videos, and personalized suggestions. You will work with a team of ML engineers and data scientists to build algorithms that boost engagement and satisfaction at scale. You'll design predictive models for candidate generation and ranking, and develop data pipelines and tooling to support rapid experimentation. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity to turn complex data into business outcomes in a fast-growing setting.
Responsibilities- Build large-scale recommendation algorithms and systems for e-commerce (10M-100M scale)
- Develop long- and short-term user interest models from diverse data
- Design, evaluate, and iterate predictive models for candidate generation and ranking (CTR/CR)
- Create real-time data pipelines and feature engineering to support models
- Develop tooling for debugging and deployment as needed
Key requirements- MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years in recommendation algorithms, online advertising, information retrieval, NLP, ML, large-scale data mining, or related areas
