Overview As a Senior Production Underwriting Specialist, you drive risk selection, pricing, and profitability for Lead Umbrella and Excess Liability in manufacturing, contracting, retail, and distribution. You will build strong relationships with agents and carriers, interpret and market products, and apply underwriting guidelines to deliver profitable growth. This role blends independent judgment with collaborative execution, contributing to a culture that values inclusion and expert underwriting in a leading insurer. You'll work across teams to solve complex risks and shape our excess liability capabilities.

Responsibilities- Make risk selections and pricing decisions aligned with divisional goals
- Manage retention, growth, and profitability of book of business
- Analyze coverage and limits to determine offered terms
- Assess risk quality and ensure compliance with guidelines
- Order and review rating and underwriting reports (e.g., MVRs, loss history, credit checks)
- Build and maintain relationships with internal/external clients to retain and grow profitable business
- Visit agents/brokers to cultivate opportunities and market products
- Explain and market products and services; administer underwriting rules and rating manuals
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of casualty underwriting experience
- 3+ years of Umbrella and Excess casualty underwriting experience preferred
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for client relationships and markets
- Willingness to travel 10%-50% for agent/broker visits
