Physician - Surgery - General

Job Details:

• Provide call coverage for up to 7 days per month for general surgery services
• Scheduled hours are 8:00am - 4:00pm with beeper call coverage for the remainder of the 24-hour shift
• Call is taken from home, including after hours and weekends
• Active Florida license required upon submission
• Board certification required; credentialing and privileging required prior to start (estimated 30-60 days)
• Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, and laser certification
• Perform general surgery for adult, pediatric, and neonate patients
• Trauma surgery capabilities required
• Laparoscopic surgery required, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication
• Head and neck surgery, including thyroid procedures, required
• Chest wall and pleural procedures required
• Breast surgery required
• Obstetric and gynecologic surgery required, including cesarean section, D&C, and hysterectomy
• Liver surgery required
• GI endoscopy required, including upper endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy
• Minor orthopedics and hand surgery required
• Ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement required
• Vascular surgery required, including thoracic and abdominal aneurysm repairs, arterial bypass, peripheral vascular, vascular access devices, and AV shunt
• Plastic surgery required
• Pediatric surgery procedures required, including esophageal, intestinal, and biliary atresias, gastroschisis, umbilical hernia, omphalocele, diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, and PDA ligation
• Patient encounters per shift vary
• Nearest airports: Tampa International and Clearwater/St. Pete

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
