Join a growing, industry-leading aerospace manufacturer where your work makes an impact and your career can take off.Position Description:Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Tool and Die Maker specializes in the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of machine shop dies, jigs, fixtures, and gages. Operates various machine tools and performs other highly skilled work, such as laying out, fitting, and assembling parts. May involve considerable development work, highly skilled fitting, and adjusting. Occasionally construct tools where no design is available on an as-needed basis. The position is for WEEKEND shift - Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM; working 36 hours and receiving a 4 hour bonus, totaling 40 hours, also includes a 25% shift differential. Must be available to train on 1st shift.Essential Responsibilities:Create tool designs utilizing NX (Unigraphics) CAD system. This requires being familiar with tool design and drafting standards of various customers and military.Operate overhead crane when necessaryVerifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).Maintains specifications; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping dutiesMaintains equipment by adhering to maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Report proper labor hours in the ERP systemUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.Exceptional time management and or organization skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same timeAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.Always take ownership and be accountable for your actions.Good and reliable attendance and a positive attitude are a mustPhysical Conditions:Lift, push and/or pull 50 poundsStand at least 95% of scheduled shiftRoutinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materialsPerform under AS9100 standardsQualifications / Education / Experience:High school diploma or GED requiredMust be proficient at operating all toolroom machines, i.e., mills, lathes, grinders, saws, etc.Good technical math skills (shop math, geometry, and trigonometry)Troubleshooting/problem-solving skillsMust be a "US Person" as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
