Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology
Summary:
Join a top-level trauma center in Jackson, Michigan, offering inpatient hospital-based care to adult and geriatric patients. This opportunity seeks a Gastroenterologist to provide coverage for one week each month for at least six months, with potential for extension. The practice focuses on 100% inpatient care, handling an average of 8 follow-up patients and 6-8 new consults per day. The facility is equipped with Epic EMR and operates at a Level II Trauma Level.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive gastroenterological care to inpatients.
- Manage an average daily volume of patients, including follow-ups and new consults.
- Participate in 24-hour call coverage with a call ratio of 1:4.
- Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
- Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship.
- Able to perform hospital-based GI procedures, including colonoscopy and EGD.
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues.
- Familiarity with the Epic EMR system preferred.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Current Michigan medical license at time of name clear.
- ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
