Practice Setting
- 25-bed critical access hospital, mix of inpatient and outpatient care
- Stabilize and transfer setup; serious trauma routed to Saint Alphonsus Level II in Boise or St. Luke's Boise or Meridian
- Case mix includes general surgery, light trauma, and endoscopy
- Support staff includes a typical crew of 2, anesthesia supported by CRNAs
Schedule
- Coverage needed ASAP
- Scheduled hours listed as 24/7 coverage
- Once started, two weeks of coverage followed by two weeks without coverage, then two weeks of coverage
- One day of orientation required
Cases and Procedures
- Upper and lower endoscopy, screening and diagnostic
- Laparoscopic and open appendectomy, laparoscopic and open cholecystectomy
- Hernia repair including inguinal, ventral, incisional
- Exploratory or diagnostic laparotomy, hemorrhoidectomy, excisional procedures
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO
- Board Certified in Surgery, or Board Eligible within 5 years
- Active Idaho license required; will not wait for license
- BLS required
